Synergize

Synergize is a multi-institutional and multidisciplinary project that seeks to understand the distribution patterns and main threats to the biodiversity and integrity of forests, rivers and streams in the Brazilian Amazon.

Through collaboration with around 200 researchers from different regions of Brazil and the world, Synergize has established one of the most extensive networks for data collaboration on Amazonian biodiversity.

Synergize compiled data on assemblages of birds, scarab beetles, ants, fish, insects and aquatic macrophytes from standardized ecological collections in the Brazilian Amazon.

In the first phase of TAOCA, we focused on terrestrial ecosystem data. But we have plans and interest in expanding to aquatic ecosystems and also other biodiversity groups.
